Friends, Romans, countrymen, lend me your ears;
I come to bury western conceptions of the composer, not to praise him.
Thanks for putting up with my dramatics for 6 years, heres the last recital i’ll be giving at the RCS. Please come along, even if you do support the tyranny of DWMC
(coin this with me, dead white men composers), i'll be playing some of them too.
In true Keesia style, I will not be telling you the names of the pieces besides Henry's, since this one is new, nor will you be getting a program with any order to the pieces. I can entice you with some composers names, if you are drawn to see music in this way-
Henry McPherson- "The 88"
*with a special secret guest performance
*reading from Atzi Lipsync of a poem by Kisaragi Koharu
Other highlights include a new tuning system (with a big salut to Wendy Carlos and Partch). I am devising this based on principals of alternative tunings but structured for use by an improviser instead
of a composer. Am calling this the symmetrical piano. (Side note, how great is it that i'm just being allowed to re-tune a baby grand piano?)
This is in the Stevenson hall, invite the masses!
