Winners of Best Live Performance at 2016’s Scottish Cultural Awards, Federation of the Disco Pimp combine elements of Old-School Funk, Disco, Psychedelic and Jazz, this 7-piece band of Scots are legendary for their endless energy and blistering live sets. As Scotland’s premier exponent of modern funk, they have toured the UK, Europe and North America, sharing the stage with various international artists including – George Clinton & Parliament, Family Stone, Fred Wesley & the JB’s, Giles Peterson, Roots Manuva, Lee Fields, The James Taylor Quartet, The Neil Cowley Trio and Hot 8 Brass Band.
Ray Harris; a previous support act to the Godfather of Soul James Brown, Chic Ft Nile Rodgers, Average White Band, Brian Auger, Smoove & Turrell, Jaga Jazzist and MOBO winner Denys Baptiste; performs internationally recently headlining Indonesia’s 37th Jazz Goes To Campus Festival. With a career spanning over ten years record releases worldwide include Japan, South Korea, Indonesia and Europe, Ray Harris is renowned for his ability to blend a unique mix of Acid Jazz, Latin, Disco and Soul with imprints of a distinctive 60s and 70s style.
Fat-Suit is a multi-genre music collective from Scotland with deep roots in Jazz, Funk and Soul. More than that, they effortlessly assimilate influences from Fusion, House, Brass-Rock and Scottish folk music to create a vibrant new musical vocabulary. The Fat Suit manifesto embraces a seamless mix of styles, but the top priority is to provoke maximum joy through exuberant performances and stunning recordings of original compositions.
