We’ve changed the date of our Charity Spinathon to Sunday 18th March. And we also thought we’d tell you the inspiration behind this event.
We’re cycling to raise money for Women v Cancer. This organization incorporates cervical, ovarian and breast cancer research. And we’re running this event for one of our members, Catherine Anderson and her friend Jennie McDermott.
Catherine has been a Bowfield member for 18 years. This charity event is preparing Catherine and Jennie for a bigger challenge. They are cycling from London to Paris on 6th – 9th September.
They hope to raise over £3,000 for the charity from this 240 mile cycle. The aim of our Spinathon is to get their fundraising off to a racing start.
The goal is to keep 14 bikes going from 10am – 4pm. You can pop down and donate £10 for a 30 minute slot, or £15 for one hour.
There will also be cakes on sale, a raffle, and opportunities for massages, to help any tired limbs recover from spinning.
If you wish to donate to the Spinathon and the London to Paris Cycle Challenge, please contact us.
We wish our two members good luck on their challenge!
We’d love you to join us and show some support for Catherine and Jennie on Sunday March 18th.
