This is your chance to discover a new (often local) author in our informal free sessions in the Let's Talk Space at Granville Street.

This evening, hear Jerry Branningan on Robert Burns in Edinburgh.

A talk about a book I co-authored, ROBERT BURNS IN EDINBURGH, published by Waverley Books in 2015.
An illustrated talk on the time Robert Burns spent in Edinburgh, focusing on the places and people he met there.

The talk will open with a very short introduction to the Scottish Enlightenment with particular reference to the conditions in Edinburgh, which made it unique in Europe.

Jerry will then talk primarily about three or four people who Burns had a strong personal connection with, and who each have quite amazing personal stories.

The talk will finish up with a summary of the legacy that Burns left behind.
