Having stormed onto the scene in 2010 on legendary Belgian imprint R&S with the timeless Detroit Falls / Orpheus, and following up with the “Safehouses” EP, Pariah quickly earmarked himself as a figurehead of a new wave of UK techno, displaying equally prevalent influences from classic Detroit as well as the seminal bass heavy sounds of his hometown of London. Alongside his solo productions, Pariah is widely known as one half of the infamous Karenn project, an all analogue, improvised techno duo alongside Jamie Roberts aka Blawan. The raw unhinged sounds of their hardware played off the cuff and a critically acclaimed Boiler Room set made Karenn one of the worlds most in-demand live techno acts, being booked worldwide and turning in remixes for Kowton, Delta Funktionen and Jon Hopkins amongst others.
As well as the Karenn live show, Blawan and Pariah founded the Works the Long Nights label, acting as the main outlet for Karenn’s recorded output, with a series of 3 hand-stamped records appearing alongside releases from Sunil Sharpe, Trade (the joint project of Surgeon and Blawan) and a collaboration from Midland and Pariah himself.
With a clear focus on quality over quantity and a more sparse release schedule than his contemporaries, Pariah continues to tour prolifically. We’re very excited to let him showcase his low-slung, free-wheeling DJ style in the intimate space of the La Cheetah basement.
