The Couch to 5k is designed for absolute beginners to the sport or for those looking to get fit. The programme involves 3 runs a week and also a stretch and core class over a duration of 9 weeks.
By the end of the 9 weeks, the plan is that you will be able to run 5km!
Couch to 5K works because it starts with a mix of running and walking to gradually build up your fitness and stamina.
Week 1 involves running for just a minute at a time, creating realistic expectations and making the challenge feel achievable right from the start.
Our jog leaders will be side by side with you every step of the way, cracking some terrible jokes and motivating you to take that next step.
Running is great for losing weight, improving your cardiovascular system, meeting great new friend, relieving stress and improving self confidence!
The group is £5 to join, but the first session is a taster session and is completely free!
You'll also be invited along to all of the Athletic events and social throughout the year, what more could ya want?!
