The Scottish government is drafting a new bill to determine what it will do over the next decades to keep climate change in check. They are also interested in your opinion, and a public consultation has been opened until September 22nd.
To ensure that ambitious targets are set, it is important that the view of the public is represented. Answering the consultation, however, can seem a bit daunting, and some might be put off by the technical knowledge seemingly required to do so.
Young Friends of the Earth Scotland will provide a space for people who would like to see the Scottish government owning up to its promises as a climate leader to come together and have a chat over coffee. We will give an introduction to what the Scottish government is currently proposing, and assist you through the writing of an ambitious response.
Join us in the downstairs room of Offshore cafe, and bring your laptop along, so that you can send your response on the spot. We will be providing template responses and knowledgeable people to help you through the process.
The consultation itself can be found at consult.scotland.gov.uk/energy-and-climate-change-directorate/climate-change-bill/
