With Cortne, Bad Jeff and Forrest's Can't Run,
Static Suns formed in August 2015 as a three piece band consisting of Michael Paxton as the lead singer and guitarist, his younger brother Thomas Paxton on the drums and Paul Mooney playing the bass. James Cron joined not long after as the lead guitarist creating the Ayrshire based Indie Rock n Roll four piece which play today.
The bands varied influences come together on their original tracks such as “Strobe Light” with its Frusciante Funk and Hendrix Tones, “Still Not Coming” with its powerful percussive punch and steady dance like rhythm give it a Kasabian style vibe, and their latest track — which will be released next month — “By My Side” with its prominent bassline and Eddie Vedder inspired vocals give the band a unique and dynamic sound earning them a strong support in their home towns of Ayrshire.
Static Suns are gaining recognition for their hard work in Ayrshire and are now beginning to break onto other stages across the music scene in Edinburgh and Glasgow having played a number of gigs in the cities including the prestigious King Tuts Wah Wah Hut. Their live performances are known for their fast pace sets delivered with swagger fuelling an absorbed and energised crowd. The band hope that the support from their fans continues and relish the challenge of a new venue and a new crowd.
